Zambia's South Luangwa is the birthplace of the walking safari and still the best place to do it.
Set on gorilla trekking?
Uganda and Rwanda both offer gorilla trekking, Rwanda is faster to reach from most hubs; Uganda's permits are typically less expensive.
Chasing the Great Migration?
Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti are part of the same ecosystem, timing your visit matters more than which side you choose.
