Day-by-Day Itinerary
You will be collected in Lusaka for a scenic road transfer to Kanyemba Lodge — a journey of approximately three hours through the Zambian countryside. Watch as the landscape transforms from urban bustle to the wild beauty of the Lower Zambezi region.
Carved out of the African bush, Kanyemba Lodge is a wonderful getaway in the Lower Zambezi, located about 45 km from the Lower Zambezi National Park in the Chiawa Game Management Area. The lodge’s great atmosphere, warm staff, surrounding nature, expert guiding, and breathtaking scenery — along with its renowned cuisine — will make your experience of Zambia’s hospitality one to remember.
About Kanyemba Lodge:
Maximum 20 guests for an intimate experience
6 air-conditioned stone and thatch “rondavel” chalets
Each chalet features a large private deck overlooking the Zambezi River

Over the next two days, you’ll choose from a range of activities — with two activities per day included in your stay.
Full-Day Game Drive in Lower Zambezi National Park:
Depart the lodge early morning for a boat ride (approximately 1.5 hours) downstream to the base camp of Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) , where you’ll transfer to your open-top game drive vehicle.
Spend the full day in the national park, exploring loops and searching for 4 of the Big Five (elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard), as well as a variety of herbivores and birds. After a picnic lunch in the bush, wind your way back towards CLZ to transfer back to the boat for the trip back to the lodge (2 hours) — arriving around 6:00 PM.
Note: National Park roads are not accessible during the rains (closed from mid-November to mid-April).

After breakfast, depart for Lusaka, concluding your Lower Zambezi getaway. The three-hour road transfer takes you back through the Zambian countryside, arriving in Lusaka in time for your onward flight or accommodation.
